About the Role
Are you passionate about bridging the gap between academia and public policy? This is your opportunity to lead communications for a nationally significant project that connects universities with policymakers to enhance the use of academic expertise in shaping public policy.
As Head of Communications and Impact, you will develop and deliver a strategic communications plan that amplifies the visibility and impact of the Universities Policy Engagement Network (UPEN) and its flagship project. You'll lead campaigns, manage content creation, oversee events, and ensure our messaging resonates with key audiences across the academic-policy ecosystem.

What You'll Do

  • Lead Campaigns: Deliver targeted campaigns and content across digital platforms, media, and events.
  • Manage Channels: Oversee UPEN's website, social media, newsletters, and media relations.
  • Drive Engagement: Lead a dynamic events programme and create innovative formats to connect academia and policy.
  • Showcase Impact: Develop frameworks and narratives to communicate project outcomes and societal benefits.

About You

  • Proven experience in developing and delivering communications strategies for complex projects or organisations.
  • Expertise in managing multi-channel campaigns and creating compelling content.
  • Strong skills in event management and impact reporting.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences.
  • A collaborative, organised, and detail-oriented approach.

Desirable: Knowledge of academic-policy engagement, experience in higher education or policy sectors, and familiarity with CMS platforms and design tools.
