Home based (South West England and Wales)
Perm FT- 35 hours per week
Salary circa £34,000 + home working allowance + access to a lease car or paid mileage

The role
You will provide professional, expert and competent advice to all of our services in the South West of England and Wales covering all aspects of Health, Safety and Fire, including but not limited to Residential homes, Specialist schools and various office amenities. There will be a requirement of overnight stays should your travel exceed more than 4hrs commute and occasional travel to other parts of the UK to support visits with your peers.
You will deliver a high quality of customer service through regular constant communication with internal customers, achieved through site visits and audits to ensure a consistent high level of compliance.
You will manage and support the implementation of agreed strategies, including applying initiatives and approaches to support organisational change.
You will audit, inspect and risk asses all Health and Safety and Fire arrangements, reporting on areas of risk and identifying solutions and training, which you will deliver.

The person
You will ideally have:
- Membership of relevant professional body eg IOSH, IIRSM or IEMA
- NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent
- NEBOSH FIRE
- Environmental Qualification
- Experience in providing high quality professional and competent safety, health, environmental and wellbeing advice across a geographically dispersed organisation and at all levels of the organisation.
- Experience of leading organisational wide campaigns and change programmes.
- Evidence of leading accident investigation and the production of high quality investigation reports
- Excellent knowledge of health and safety legislation and environmental legislation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to influence decision makers.
- Ability to analyse information, identify trends and gaps, and provide solutions to managers tracking actions to completion.
- Excellent influencing skills, including the ability to present data clearly.
- A driving license and relevant insurance
The post-holder will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
