Housing Development Officer (Local Authority)
Pay rate: £35 per hour umb
Wellingborough, working from home
Contract: Temporary assignment up to March2021
Hours: 2 days per week - part time for this role would this be for 15 hours per week, 7.5 hour days. (Could be more flexible with hours across days i.e. if candidate can do 5 hours per day)

Yes! We have an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking local authority as a Housing Development Officer.

What is the role?
You'll be tasked with assessing housing, homelessness and housing stock needs within the borough to enable plans, strategies and publicity to be prepared. You will then assist with the production of those plans, strategies and publicity in order to deliver affordable housing and make a real impact on people's lives.
- Undertake research, analysis, option appraisals for developments, project planning and performance management.
- Prepare nomination agreements with Housing Associations.
- Prepare and provide statistical information for reports and returns, accurately and within timescale. Prepare and support bids for funding on strategic housing initiatives and assist in delivering those initiatives.
- Give advice on areas of improvement and to undertake service reviews.
- Meet with officers, members, residents and establish and maintain effective links with main stakeholders.
- You will attend, as necessary, meetings of the Council and its Committees, and meetings in the community outside of normal working hours.
What will you need?
- Educated to Diploma or Higher National level (or equivalent) or have equivalent relevant experience working in a housing environment.
- Knowledge and experience of housing and associated legislation, policy and guidance and, ideally, have had exposure to working in partnership with developers, landowners and housing associations.
- The ability to analyse complex information and propose effective solutions, as well as demonstrably effective verbal and written skills, are also essential to this role.
You may have experience of the following: Housing Development Officer, Home Allocation, Local Authority, Planner, Housing Officer, Community Support Worker, Project Officer Housing Assistant, Allocation Support, Homelessness Advice Officer, Regeneration, etc.
Desirable: Membership of the Chartered Institute of Housing or related professional body, would be a distinct advantage.
