Guidant Global is recruiting on behalf of a highly recognised university for an HR Business Partner for a 3-Month contract with an immediate start.
In this role, you can expect to:
- Developing and implementing local people strategies to support the attraction, retention, engagement and development of all staff in the Faculty/Professional Services Division, in line with the HR strategy.
- Managing succession planning and talent management using frameworks and ensuring a diverse talent pipeline.
- Supporting with the recruitment of senior roles within the Faculties/Divisions including co-ordinating effective and inclusive attraction and selection campaigns.
- Working with line managers and the Central EDI team on improving the diversity of the senior population in the Faculties/Divisions.
- Working with line managers to seek resolution to informal employee relations issues and working with the Employee Relations Team to progress formal cases.
- Working with line managers and the Organisational Development team on local training and development plans to ensure that we retain people and have good succession.
- Working with line managers to ensure that appraisals are carried out effectively, good performance is recognised and poor performance is addressed.
- Supporting with 360 feedback.
- Working with line managers and the Workplace Health team to embed a culture of well-being within the School and Faculties/Divisions.
- Supporting the job evaluation process.
- Supporting organisational change with the senior team, utilising support as appropriate from the Employee Relations team.
- Working with, coaching and engaging with the local, embedded HR teams in the Faculty and Divisions.
- Supporting and advising line managers in the consistent application of procedures and policies across the full HR agenda. Working with the wider HR group to achieve appropriate outcomes.
- In conjunction with the wider HR group, training and coaching line managers as appropriate
- Participating in working groups and undertaking project work and research as appropriate to support both local and central HR strategies.
We're looking for candidates who have:
Experience in advising and handling a range of complex HR issues (e.g. disciplinaries, grievances, change management, TUPE) |
Knowledge of workforce planning, succession planning and talent management and how they can be effectively implemented. |
Experience in developing and implementing people plans and/or HR solutions and can demonstrate the difference it made. |
Experience in improving engagement and retention of people. |
Can evidence implementing successful EDI approaches/strategies. |
Skills and abilities |

Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing. |
Able to be tenacious and resilient in the face of challenge and disagreement whilst maintaining a professional demeanour |
