Overview:
We are recruiting for an Interim Legal Advisor on behalf on an International Chemical Manufacturing based in the City of London.
This is an initial 4-month contract up until 31st March 2019 with possibility of extension.
Principle Accountanbilities:
- Advising the division and Group Procurement function on a wide range of domestic and international commercial and compliance matters
- Understanding the division's direct (raw material) and indirect (goods and services) purchasing requirements
- Drafting and negotiating a variety of legal documents and commercial contracts to reflect divisional purchasing requirements to ensure suitably robust purchasing contracts are in place
- This ranges from standard terms to bespoke agreements; all aspects of such arrangements are covered, including competition, IP, tax and insurance
- Providing general legal support to various business functions including procurement, technology, quality, supply chain and EHS teams across the division
- Working closely with the functions to ensure that appropriate due diligence and risk management procedures are in place to cover contractual and compliance risk management
- Carrying out legal and compliance training where relevant
- Implementing and maintaining standard form documents and procedures
Scope:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in house or at a law firm
- Demonstrates a commercial mind-set and applies relationship management skills to build relationships with key stakeholders across multiple areas of the business
- Uses judgement and understanding of the business to evaluate and assess risks and promote solutions for risk mitigation and management across multiple areas the business
- Require a collaborative approach with other members of the broader Legal function and Group functions
- Demonstrates a genuine desire to add broad value to the Legal and Procurement function
Personal Specification:
- Qualified lawyer with broad experience gained in house or within a law firm
- Must hold a current practising certificate
- Previous experience of working in an international environment
- Exposure to corporate or commercial law
- Experience dealing with compliance matters
- Experience working with multiple internal stakeholders simultaneously
