Java Developer

South West Contract £440-577 per day

We're currently seeking a number of outstanding and highly experienced Java Developers to work with our exceptional client in a secure environment to lead software development on a range of innovative client projects.

All roles are based in the South West, are available on a fixed term contract for a maximum of 2 years and will require you to conduct security clearance prior to assignment.

These Java Developer roles are conducted in an environment that is far from ordinary, therefore, we're not looking for ordinary.

As well as possessing excellent software development and technical skills, you'll need to be a confident communicator, adept at working collaboratively with a wide range of project managers, developers and other stakeholders. You will be involved in all aspects of the development life cycle and may work as an individual or as part of a team.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Working with the technical team lead and product owners to implement requirements during the software development life cycle.

  • Responding to client requests and using innovative solutions to anticipate and meet their needs by translating business needs into technical requirements.

  • Sharing knowledge with colleagues, supporting team members and improving software development approaches and quality of deliverables across the organisation.

Your experience:

In order to be successful, you'll also require:

  • A track-record of success in similar Java Developer roles, delivering full life cycle software projects to time, cost and quality whilst meeting customers' expectations and requirements.

  • Proven experience of common development tools - Ant, Gradle and Eclipse.

  • A strong understanding of the Enterprise Java Stack, with a proven expertise in using JEE technologies - EJB, JMS and Webservices.

  • Unit test tools and frameworks.

  • Experience of working in an agile project delivery environment.

  • Knowledge of any programming languages - C#, XML and HTML.

  • Experience of design methods - OO, UML and Rational tool set.

  • Knowledge of continuous integration tools - Jenkins and Hudson.

  • Good knowledge of scripting languages - Java, Shell and Python.
