The UK's trusted Ministry of Defence partner, MBDA, are looking for a Live Build Manufacturing Technician to support our prestigious Defence client based at the site near Stevenage. The Manufacturing Technician will typically be capable of certifying the product and possess a versatile skill base, with a capability to apply their skills across a range of tasks utilising equipment and tools, gauges and measuring instruments associated with the production, repair, and modification of the company products to meet defined build standards and specification requirements.

As a qualified Technician with relevant experience in Manufacturing Engineering, the Live Build Manufacturing Technician will be responsible for carrying out Manufacturing, test, and inspection tasks according to product certification procedures, assigned budgets, and timescales to meet project objectives.

What we're looking for:

  • Formal technical engineering/craft apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21/ONC.
  • Experience in a Manufacturing / Craftsman position.
  • ESD training.
  • Live Build training (will be provided).

What you'll get to do as a Live Build Manufacturing Technician:

  • Certify the product in line with the product certification procedure and possess product certification and approval via regular audits.
  • Maintain a versatile skill base to apply these skills across a range of tasks.
  • Be fully conversant with all equipment, tools and measuring instruments associated with the manufacturing cycle.
  • Ensure manufacturing build, inspection, and test times are met where relevant and maintain the highest level, workmanship standards and product quality.
  • Provide compliance with all associated procedures applicable to the manufacturing
  • Capable of certifying the product and possessing a versatile skill base
  • Ability to apply the essential skills across a range of tasks utilising equipment and tools, gauges and measuring instruments associated with the production, repair, and modification of company products

This role is based at MBDA's headquarters near Stevenage, which plays a key part in missile operations. The site also offers excellent transportation links. Training and development are provided to all employees. Plus, an accommodation expense of up to £400 per week (must live over 30 miles per way; not for food purposes).
