MBDA, a trusted partner of the UK Ministry of Defence, are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Project Manager - Industrial Transfer & Offload to oversee Industrial Transfer projects or sub-projects to guarantee they are completed within the agreed time, budget, and quality standards.

As a Manufacturing Project Manager, your main responsibility is to develop strategies that will make Manufacturing Bids for Industrial Transfer packages of work more effective. It is important that these strategies are competitive, compliant, and align with all business and commercial criteria.

What we're looking for:

  • The ideal candidate must be an experienced project manager with a proven track record of successfully delivering fixed-cost programs of significant value within a matrix organisation.
  • Knowledge within an engineering or production environment would be of preference.
  • Experience in high-level communication, interfacing with key stakeholders to respond to complex situations and effectively influence the function and broader business.
  • Expertise in fostering strong relationships and collaborating with multi-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and tenacious individual who can prioritise and understand strategic business needs as well as manage the day-to-day tactical decisions
  • Experience in the application of Project Management skills at the assistant level in a relevant business environment

What you'll get to do as a Manufacturing Project Manager:

  • Regularly reviewing and reporting progress is essential in ensuring the project is delivered as planned. If any issues arise, it is necessary to intervene and resolve them to maintain progress.
  • Provide precise updates on project performance across all areas and communicate manufacturing needs effectively.
  • Assist Manufacturing Functions and project teams in identifying opportunities for offloading processes and lead the implementation of the Manufacturing Industrial Policy/Strategy, ensuring it aligns with the New Business Pipelines and Technology Roadmaps.
  • Working closely with Procurement Functions (ISP-S and MEP) to identify suitable Offload suppliers.
  • Evaluating business cases to support offload opportunities and ensuring that the process follows proper governance.
  • Manage stakeholder interfaces, including internal customers, and ensure accurate reporting of progress against all aspects of project performance.
  • Support the New Business Team in identifying new business opportunities and developing approaches to winning the business.
  • Involve contributing to developing, maintaining, and modifying manufacturing processes and procedures within your assigned areas. This will be done while adhering to relevant standards, best practices, and evolving needs. Additionally, you will assist with Functional & Strategic Change activities to support best practices and functional excellence.
  • Collect, summarise, and present information or data, carrying out pre-defined analyses and ensuring completeness and accuracy, and provide it to others for decision-making.
  • Developing and maintaining key relationships with internal customers and key subcontractors
