The UK's trusted Ministry of Defence partner, MBDA, is looking for a dynamic Procurement Subcontract Manager to join a diverse department, to work collaboratively with suppliers worldwide, enabling MBDA to provide world-leading defence capabilities for home Nations and their Allies. The position will be based at the Bolton site (a percentage of travel is associated with the role between sites).
What you'll get to do as a Procurement Subcontract Manager:
- Proactively managing critical supplier subcontracts and obligations.
- Developing and maintaining long-term, open, collaborative and commercially robust business relationships with suppliers
- Project management of supplier programmes to ensure the on-time, on-cost, on quality delivery of bespoke high-value/complexity sub-systems and services
The MEP role is unique and exciting, requiring a combination of commercial expertise and partner management skills to lead business relationships with strategic worldwide suppliers across a wide range of initiatives to drive overall supplier performance.
Key aspects of the role:
- Subcontract Management (including drafting, amending, negotiating, and managing terms and conditions) following applicable legislation and company processes
- Building and nurturing supplier and key stakeholder relationships
- Leading in the internal Multi-Functional Team responsible for the delivery of a sub-contract (consisting of Technical, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, and Project Management)
- Holding the Supplier to account for their performance and resolving any issues/conflicts (hardware, services, and documentation)
- Providing commercial guidance to internal stakeholders
- Generating and implementing supplier strategies that deliver value for money
- Risk and opportunity management
- Safeguarding the interests of MBDA

- You must be a UK national or citizen to be eligible for the role.
Required:
- Experience in a Procurement / Subcontract related role
- Experience in Contract Management / Terms and Conditions
- Qualified in a business subject area, procurement or supply chain accreditations or equivalent experience
Preferred:
- Prior experience in defence procurement and contracting
- Negotiation in Customer / Supplier environment
- Degree level qualification(s) and / or Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) accredited
