Quality Conformance Engineer
Location: Broughton, Chester (on-site)
Hours: 35 hours per week (4.5 days, flexible between 7am-7pm)
Pay: £23.84/hr (PAYE) or £31.90/hr (Umbrella)
Security Clearance: BPSS+ (arranged by Airbus)
About the Opportunity
Join the Airbus Quality Development Programmes & Major Industrial Projects team in Broughton as a Quality Conformance Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety across major aircraft modifications and industrial projects.
You'll be at the heart of continuous improvement, working with a passionate team to drive operational excellence and deliver real impact on product quality and process reliability.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading and supporting the industrialisation of major modifications, targeted embodiment points, and industrial transfers to enable efficient serial manufacture.
- Applying and deploying Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and quality standards across projects.
- Facilitating Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (FMEA) in design, process, and machinery.
- Creating and updating control plans to reflect modifications and ensure robust processes.
- Planning and executing Production Process Verification (PPV) to validate manufacturing routings.
- Forecasting and supporting mitigation of Cost of Non-Quality (CoNQ) issues.
- Providing lineside support for test campaigns and manufacturing during Start of Production (SoP) phases.
- Supporting the cascade of Key Characteristics (KC) and Critical Items (CTI) from design and engineering teams.
- Contributing to APQP activities, including decision trees, applicability matrices, and key business deliverables.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in quality, manufacturing, or engineering within the aeronautical, aerospace, or automotive sectors.
- Strong understanding of preventative and quality methods, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Practical experience is valued over formal qualifications.
- Ideally, experience in aviation, but candidates from automotive backgrounds will also be considered.
- Willingness to work standard day shifts, with flexibility for future shift changes (notice will be provided).
