An Experienced Registered Manager required for this Learning Disability accommodation unit, based in Hove.

Pay rate - £30 p/hr DL/Umbrella

Location: Beach House, BN3 4GQ. The candidate will also be required at least 1 other service - NB1 or BN2

Purpose of the Job

To lead and manage a team of care staff providing a flexible range of services to meet service users' needs, ensuring the delivery of an effective, efficient, quality service that enables service users to maintain their independence and dignity. This includes overall responsibility for all aspects of the day to day running of the service, and longer term development and planning.

Principal Accountabilities

  1. If the Service is registered with CQC, to be the Registered Manager with the Care Quality Commission and to ensure Compliance with their standards.

  1. To work as a member of the management team in order to; provide an effective, responsive service within statutory requirements, Directorate policy and available resources, and to develop, and monitor the service.
  2. To promote and actively implement the personalisation agenda and the Care Act.

  1. Responsible for responding to Safe Guarding Issues in accordance with Sussex Safeguarding Adults Policy and

  1. To regularly assess, review and monitor both the needs of the person using the service and the package of care.
  2. The overall effective and efficient management, support and supervision of staff in the team including:
    a) selection, recruitment, induction and attendance management
    b) assignment of work, allocation of resources and overall deployment of staff
    c) appraising performance with the aid of appointment support, supervision, performance reviews, training or other necessary action.
  3. To organise and participate in relevant training programmes for staff.
  4. To provide appropriate information to maintain records concerning service users' need and service delivery, specifically in relation to the provision of quality assurance information in both as qualitative and quantitative format.

  1. To develop and maintain links with local groups, representatives, statutory and voluntary organisations.

  1. To work within the multi-disciplinary teams and in partnership with other providers and health professionals (where appropriate) to ensure complex packages of care and support are effectively delivered in a value for money framework.
  2. To participate in training activities to further personal development and to keep abreast of the changing demands of the job.
  3. The overall management of any appropriate budget within the Directorate's scheme of delegation and administrative/financial regulations.

    Qualifications

    Knowledge

    Experience

    · A relevant qualification in Social Care or Care Management: e.g. at least QCF Diploma level 3 and the willingness to work towards the Level 4 & 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care

    · Knowledge of legislation and statutory guidance relevant to Learning Disabilities and Adult services

    · Knowledge of Health and Safety issues pertaining to Residential services including risk management

    · Demonstrable management experience of working within the Learning Disability field or related social care setting

    · Experience of applying Safeguarding Adults policies and procedures

    · Experience of and understanding of challenging behaviour

    · Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary setting

    · Experience of determining and managing resources including forecasting, monitoring and managing budgets

    · Experience of communicating effectively in writing and verbally with other professionals and to produced reports and other documentation to an agreed standard

    · Experience of managing and prioritising own workload and that of others,

    · Experience of managing conflicting priorities effectively, and making accountable decisions

    · To be able to demonstrate a commitment to the principles of Equalities and to be able to carry out duties in accordance with the Councils' Equalities Policy
