How do we work?
Arosfa Short Breaks offers a variety of overnight stays to children and young people aged 8 to 18 with a wide range of disabilities. Based in Flintshire, you'll join our Residential team to provide a fun and stimulating environment to our children and young people on a 24/7 shift rota basis including weekends and sleep in duties.
How will you make a difference?
- By helping the young people to understand their feelings and work with them to identify coping strategies
- By communicating, engaging, encouraging and supporting young people to take part in local activities and events to develop social and independence skills.
- By promoting a safe environment, where young people can thrive and try out new experiences and have fun
- By advocating on behalf of the children and young people
- By becoming part of the staff team and providing support for young people during their stay
- By working as part of a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency team
What will you need?
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or QCF Level 3 is essential for this role
- Flexibility to work as part of a rota
- Existing registration with Social Care Wales or the willingness to register
- Experience of working in a residential setting, ideally with experience of key working responsibilities.
- To be able to effectively and safely deal with children and young people with disabilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Good knowledge of IT and ability to work confidently using it
- Good knowledge of Safeguarding, and keeping young people safe
- Access to a car with business insurance. The job requires the ability to travel according to the needs of the job, with reasonable adjustments, if required, according to the Equality Act.
- Ability to speak Welsh is desirable but not essential
- Ability to assist with personal care requirements

Beth fydd ei angen arnoch?
- NVQ Lefel 3 mewn Iechyd a Gofal Cymdeithasol neu Fframwaith Cymwysterau a Chredydau (QCF) Lefel 3 yn hanfodol
