Our client is a trusted partner of the UK Ministry of Defence and is currently seeking an experienced RF Digital Waveform Design Engineer. The role involves working on a new seeker with a fast-paced programme within a dynamic team to develop high-speed circuits. The ideal candidate must have broad skills in mixed-signal electronic design, with an appreciation of radar systems and a good understanding of programmable devices such as FPGAs/CPLDs.

What we're looking for:
- Analogue & High-speed Digital Circuit Design
- Design, Simulation & Layout using Zuken
- FPGA/CPLD Circuit Design and Simulation using Xilinx ISE, Vivado, Libero, and others
- Perform design-proving tests and trials in the laboratory.
- Diagnose hardware problems using various methods, e.g., visual inspection, signal/data analysis in design
- Knowledge of mixed-signal board techniques and awareness of manufacturing techniques and capabilities
- Appreciation of mechanical design & module packaging
- Solid understanding of various tools, processes, and procedures. Familiarity with design software such as Zuken, Orcad, and LTSpice is also crucial.
- Possess the capability of producing top-notch testing requirements and reports, devising a comprehensive action plan, and consistently delivering the expected results within the mutually agreed timeframe.
- Degree qualified or equivalent with modules relating to RF or electronics
- Establishing strong working relationships with team members, external departments, suppliers, and customers is paramount.
- Experience with product lifecycles, from concept to production, is valuable.
- Essential to be able to produce high-quality written reports
- Desirable to have radar experience with hardware implementation
What you'll get to do as a RF Digital Waveform Design Engineer:
The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for designing and developing high-speed digital and analogue circuits for multimode-seeker applications. They will conduct tests and integration activities while adhering to standards and requirements and create and manage documentation related to testing for seeker hardware. The candidate will interact with customers and suppliers to ensure the final design meets all requirements and oversee the transition of development hardware into series production. They will also conduct technical investigations to improve designs and develop solutions for technical issues. Finally, the successful candidate will provide technical advice and assistance to the engineering manager.
