We are recruiting for a Senior Delivery Manager to work with our exceptional central government client based in the south west of England. A master in the craft of Delivery Management, you will impart your product knowledge and delivery management experience to ensure the continuous delivery of relevant software. Working collaboratively with technology partners to solve difficult problems.

This isn't an ordinary environment and we aren't looking for ordinary. This role will give you the opportunity to help shape a department in your eyes, streamline processes and make lasting changes to ways of working.

Key responsibilities:

  • Coaching and mentoring a team of Delivery Managers
  • Creating new ways of working, ensuring innovation across the team and keeping up to date with the latest trends
  • Identifying and resolving issues within the team
  • Managing stakeholders expectations, communicating at all levels sometimes facilitating difficult and complex discussions within constrained timescales
  • Identifying and challenge complex processes, coaching the organisation to continuously analyse and adapt processes
  • Identifying and building the delivery structures to optimise delivery of products and services.
  • Planning beyond product delivery to include forecasting, estimating, managing uncertainty, metrics and measurement, contingency planning and road-mapping
  • Communicating and progressing plans to Engineering
  • Liaising with stakeholders at all levels including other Agile delivery operations throughout the product lifecycle
  • You will have the ability to represent the community to large audiences not only across the organisation but also to academia and the commercial sector.
  • Identifying appropriate suppliers and taking responsibility for complex relationships whilst ensuring good value from them
  • Understanding of the market place, realising

Key requirements:

  • Expert in technology development best practices such as agile, scrum, lean startup
  • Extensive experience gained across software delivery (Testing, Business Analysis, Development, Project Management)
  • Experience in translating IT and business strategies into deliverable action plans
  • Extensive, experience in facilitating the delivery of complex technical business solutions e.g. software solutions, through teams
  • Experience of delivering value from agile methodologies
  • Ability to motivate a team, empowering them to be innovative and bold in their ideas
  • Commercially aware
  • Agile, Lean, APMP qualifications
  • Certified Scrum professional

In return:

You will be working in a challenging and quirky environment with some of the best minds in the country. Contracted for 12 months initially with a possibly to extend thereafter. You'll be challenged and pushed to succeed and will have autonomy to make changes with the Risk owner.
