The role
Action for Children's Build Sound Minds Derby and Derbyshire service covers the whole of Derbyshire in three multi-disciplinary clusters hubs delivering programmes of one to one, group, digital and family support interventions. The service employs Systemic Psychotherapists, Clinical Psychologists and CBT Therapists as well as Family Support Workers and Practitioners and Co-ordinators.
We are looking for a Cluster Co-ordinator to join our team. You will work with a range of professionals to ensure the children and young people you support develop to their full potential. You will manage a team of Family Support Practitioners and hold the highest aspirations for children and young people. You will also liaise closely with other co-ordinators to ensure compliance and excellence. We will actively support you in your role and provide you with training, development and supervision.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic this role will be home based in the first instance and then in our Chesterfield office in the longer term with the potential for longer term flexibility and some home-based working. There is a requirement that Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are key days of work in this role plus 1 other day that can be discussed.
You will make a difference by:
- Being part of a vibrant diverse team of helping professionals where the focus is on delivering a range of interventions to support young people and their wider support network in times of mild and moderate need.
- Working with children and young people who need specialist support but who do not meet the thresholds for CAMHS or other higher intervention services.
- Helping children and young people who present with moderate mental health difficulties (i.e. Anxiety, Low Mood) and supporting them and their families to deal with deal with issues such as bereavement, parental separation, self-esteem, bullying, transitions, and behaviour at home/school.
- Working with collaborative model is designed to increase resilience in the child and the system and reduce the development of more entrenched mental health issues.
You will need:
- Level 5 Children, Young People and Families Manager within the Community or equivalent is desirable.
- Experience of working with children, young people and families in the community.
- Experience of supervising staff who are carrying out direct work with children and families.
- Previous exposure of delivering targeted early interventions to children and young people.
- A proven record of working collaboratively and responding to safeguarding concerns.
- Experience of liaising with parents and other professionals regarding children and young people.
- Experience of representing the organisation at external events.
