Salary: £28,200 to £32,900 depending on experience and qualifications

Northamptonshire Disability Community Short Breaks Service provides county-wide out of school play and leisure activities for children and young people with disabilities aged 5 - 18 years.

We do this by running a range of clubs and activities. The project operates during school holidays, weekends and evenings.

We pride ourselves on listening to children and young people to support them to be involved in making decisions.

We build positive relationships with families and work with professional colleagues to ensure we can support each child to achieve the best outcomes.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for Service Coordinator with the Northants Disability Service. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing a team who provide an effective, efficient service covering short breaks and clubs and other support agencies in Northamptonshire. Due to the role it is essential for the successful candidate to be a car driver.

How you'll make a difference:

  • Provide positive pro social modelling for children and young people, supporting them to access a range of activities and community support.
  • Provide support to families by offering a Community Short Breaks Service
  • You will be accountable for data gathering, analysis and reporting to key partners
  • By leading and managing a team who support children and young people to reach their potential, across multiple areas of day to day lives

What you'll need:

  • A proven track record of working directly with families with complex needs
  • A strong understanding of the issues and challenges facing families.
  • Be able to lead staff teams to work flexibly in order to support families at critical times
  • Experience of working with children with disabilities
  • Strength based approach to supporting families
  • A sound knowledge of multi-agency work
  • A proven track record of managing staff in the context of supporting and developing people
  • A proven ability to work with improving outcomes.
  • Experience of reporting on performance to funders and partners.
  • Previous experience in Quality Assurance desirable
  • Experience of line management
  • A strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast paced and challenging environment
  • A Level 4 qualifications in Health and Social Care or an equivalent is required for this role
