Guidant Global is working with the UK's trusted Ministry of Defence partner, MBDA, who needs a skilled Simulation Developer to design and develop weapon systems and system architectures in an integral technique in Stevenage.

As a Simulation Engineer, you'll design a capability supporting actions across the complete product life cycle. With previous knowledge, you will play a vital role in ensuring the team integrate authentic products, models, and synthetic environments to provide visualisations, demonstrations, verification & validation, and training capability and support.

What you'll get to do as a Simulation Developer:

  • Support the development of the world's most advanced defence systems from the initial concepts with advanced visualisation techniques (AR/VR) and demonstrations through in-service support and training.
  • Collaborate with Project Leads and Simulation Architects to design and develop simulation components as an end-to-end representation of a weapon System in a synthetic environment using C#, C++, and integration simulations (DIS/HLA/DDS).
  • Group with the heterogeneous agile development team includes mixed discipline engineers working in synergy to design synthetic environments.

Follow WSSE's agreed approach to software development, including:

  • Configuration control
  • Continuous Integration
  • Continuous Delivery or Deployment.
  • Unit testing
  • Test-driven development.

What we're looking for:

  • Proficient in C# / C++ / Java
  • Microsoft Visual Studio, Eclipse,
  • Ability to work from high level/system view into technical detail.
  • Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of using Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems

Non-essential

  • Distributed simulation standards / Protocols (DIS, HLA, DDS) and web services development (JavaScript, Node JS or similar) Military Communications,
  • Datalinks and Interfaces such as 1553/1760 and Ethernet TCP/IP
  • Practical knowledge of System integration principles and processes

This role is based at MBDA's headquarters in Stevenage which plays a key part in missiles operations. The site also offers excellent transportation links and boasts an onsite gym and coffee shop. Training and development are offered to all employees.
