Lancashire County Council is seeking an experienced Children's Social Worker to join its Children's Services team on a locum basis. This role offers the chance to play a vital part in protecting children, strengthening families, and supporting positive long-term outcomes.
Ideal for a practitioner who is committed, resilient, and confident working within a statutory children's services environment.
What You'll Be Doing
Undertaking assessments, care planning and interventions to safeguard children and adolescents
Managing a statutory caseload in line with legislation, policy and best practice
Building effective relationships with children, families and partner agencies
Preparing clear, detailed assessments, plans and reports
Attending meetings, reviews and contributing to court proceedings where required
Supporting team development and contributing positively to service delivery
What We're Looking For
Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification
Registered with Social Work England
Previous experience within Children's Services
Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance and procedures
Ability to work confidently in a fast-paced, demanding environment
Willingness to support colleagues and contribute to a strong team culture
