Guidant Global is working with the UK's trusted Ministry of Defence partner, MBDA, seeking a skilled Software Engineer who will be responsible for verifying and validating real-time systems application software for the next generation of Missile Systems. This is a technical hands-on role and will involve designing, implementing Test Cases for safety-critical Actuator subsystem software.

As a Software V&V Engineer with previous skills, you will play a vital role in part of a small team and be empowered to work individually with minimal supervision. As a Software V&V Engineer with previous skills, the successful candidate will play a vital role one with passion for verifying and validating software and its successful deployment in modern weapon systems. Working with technology that is at the forefront of European missile system design, helping to develop safe, secure, and reliable products that our customers can rely on.

What you'll get to do as a Software V&V Engineer:

  • Capable of integrating and testing embedded and test code for software-based Defence applications
  • Producing test requirements & test scripts for Unit, Subsystem and System level testing on both host and target platforms
  • Running tests, analysing results, and using target test facilities such as debuggers, probes, logic analysers and oscilloscopes.
  • The specification of the design of the embedded code uses UML, and familiarity with an OO approach is essential.

What we're looking for:

  • Demonstrable experience in testing hard real-time software on Bare-Metal systems.
  • C Programming experience.
  • Experience authoring Test Specifications, automated Test Scripts and compliance matrices.
  • Good problem-solving capability to investigate software/hardware issues.
  • Experience working on safety-critical software (SIL3/4 or DO178C software level B/A).
  • Experience working in a lab environment on an electro-mechanical product running embedded software.
