The Role

We provide a residential shortbreak's service to children with learning disabilities and their families, aiming to provide a secure and nurturing environment in which young people feel safe and can discover their value as individuals.

As a Team Leader you will work with a range of professionals to ensure the children and young people you support develop to their full potential. You will lead, inspire and motivate your team to deliver meaningful support that changes children's lives. Working with the Registered Manager you will be responsible for creating and maintaining the culture across the services that seeks to support staff to provide high quality care in our short breaks service.

You will be actively supported in your role and provide you and your team with specialist training, development and supervision.


You will make a difference by:

-Providing direct line management to a team of residential staff to deliver high standards of care.

-Leading shifts and working with the Registered Manager to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organisational policy and procedure.

-Working to achieve positive outcomes for individual children and young people and contributing to the achievement of an outstanding, good or equivalent rating in external inspection including deputising in the absence of the Registered Manager.


You will need:

-Previous experience of supervising staff

-Significant experience of working with children and young people.

-Confident in all aspects of MS Office

-Coach and support staff to reach a competent standard

-HNC Social care & SVQ Children and young people or equivalent

-SVQ4 in leadership and management or willing to work towards

-Ability to work under pressure while maintaining drive and enthusiasm

-To be able to effectively and safely deal with children and young people with challenging behaviour

-Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

-Good knowledge of Safeguarding, and keeping young people safe

-To be SSSC registered
