The role

We are looking for a Team Leader to join our lovely team at The Vines on a 6 months Fixed Term basis. Working hours are on a shift basis, with every other weekend off and at least one admin day a week although some flexibility is required.

You will make a difference by:

- Managing and leading a team of staff as directed in the delivery of the service.
- Helping staff meet their potential sharing responsibility for a delegated part of the service and allocated resources.
- Being responsible for ensuring a safe and positive work and service environment is achieved through compliance with all safeguarding, safer recruitment, health and safety, behaviour support policies and procedures within the defined area of responsibility.
- Delivering services and leading by example to ensure that staff are supporting children and young people to achieve their full potential.
- Delivering mandatory training and identifying areas of need, for staff and the service as a whole, for further development.
- Directing and direct responsibility for case/care (including complex cases), in planning management for individual children or young people, undertaking assessment of need, developing a care plan and identifying agreed outcomes and carrying out regular review in conjunction with children, young people and their families and other professionals.

You will need:

- Minimum of 1 years' experience in a supervisory role working with children with disabilities in a residential setting.
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent is Essential.
- Experience of leading and managing a team.
- Experience of Performance Management.
- Driver's Licence and access to car would be preferrable.
- Experience of working with people with disabilities and challenging behaviour.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good IT skills.
- Time management and organisational skills
