The role

Dundee Youth Housing's mission is to reduced homelessness with young people by providing a range of interventions, including housing advice, conflict resolution, education in schools, group work and support for the individual you person. We assist young people, between the ages of 16-21, who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, previously 'looked After' and young people who have additional support needs.

We are looking for an innovative dynamic Team Leader to become part of the Dundee Cluster Management Team who will help to deliver our Youth Housing Support Services. As part of the wider Action for Children organisation, the Dundee cluster, deliver a diverse range of services across Dundee and Tayside. On occasion you may be asked to cover any AFC service deemed appropriate.


You will make a difference by:


- Having a good understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable, young people and young people who are at the risk of becoming homeless.
- Welcoming and providing an accessible service that respects and values young people as individuals.
- Working in partnership with young people and where appropriate their families, employers, organisations and individuals.
- Provide information and guidance to encourage young people to make informed healthy decisions.



You will need:

- SVQ4 or equivalent or SVQ3 willing to work towards SVQ4.

- Registered or prepared to register with the SSSC.

- Significant post qualification experience of working with children, young people and or families in a multi agency environment and achieving positive outcomes through intervention.

- Advanced experience of chairing, supporting and contributing to service planning meetings.

- Experience of the development and practice of community working, including influencing involvement.

- Producing clear, concise written reports capturing and progressing the salient issues to action.

- Experience of managing staff.
