Young Person's Assistant

Hours: Permanent, Part-Time (working 8 hours a week)
Salary: £8.21 per hour

Our Powys Community Additional Needs Project provides support to children and young people with additional learning needs aged 0 to 18 years of age both at home and in the community.
We currently support approximately 80 children aged 0 -18 years of age throughout Powys but this role is to cover the Machynlleth area.
This role is working 6 hours a week and, although the hours are negotiable, they will need to include weekends and evenings to suit the needs of the children and young people and their families. We may also able to accept more or less hours to suit you.

What will you need?
- Experience of supporting children and young people with disabilities and their families.
- Adaptability
- Excellent communication skills
- Flexible working hours, evenings, weekend working, depending on need.
- Full clean driving licence and access to own vehicle including business insurance. The job requires the ability to travel according to the needs of the job, with reasonable adjustments, if required, according to the Equality Act.
- Knowledge of Makaton is desirable
- Welsh language desirable, not essential
