The role

The Blues programme is a 6-week evidenced based group intervention equipping young people with cognitive reforming techniques, coping strategies and increasing fun activity to reduce depression and anxiety

We provide support to children and young people by agreeing and directly delivering interventions, with appropriate direction, which enable positive and agreed outcomes to be achieved.

We are looking for a Young Person Worker who will be part of a small team trained to deliver an early intervention mental health programme to young people aged 13-19 within a cluster of educational establishments across Merseyside.

As a Young Person's Worker, you will be trained to undertake the Blues evidenced based CBT influenced programme prior to delivery. The role will be to support the delivery of the Blues programme in schools and other identified areas to young people aged 13-19 with a focus on improving their emotional wellbeing and reducing depressive symptoms. This role is predominately Mon - Fri 8.30am-4.30pm but a degree of flexibility would be expected to suit the needs of the service.


You will make a difference by:

- Supporting delivery of a six-week rolling programme to approximately 500 young people a year as a team.

- Delivering the evidence-based group work across Merseyside and to young people aged 13-19 years.

- Contributing to the delivery of a programme both face to face and digitally via Microsoft Teams.

- Underpinning the targets and outcomes within the Blues programme.

- Working as part of a wider localised Blues programme.


You will need:

- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care, child-care, youth work or equivalent is desirable

- Experience of working with young people aged 13-19

- Experience of working with young people with low emotional wellbeing

- Experience of delivering group work programmes

- Driving license and access to a car desirable
