The role
Action for Children is working in partnership with West Dunbartonshire Housing and a range of local and national partners through Big Lottery Early Action System Change Funding. We have secured funding for 2.5 years to focus on a co-produced approach to tackling the root causes of youth homelessless, including repeat youth homelessness in West Dunbartonshire. Using a mix of participation and engagement events with children, young people and families alongside our research partners Scotcen, we will begin to identify key local factors around youth homelessness. We will then begin to test out intervention approaches to support children, young people and families and prevent youth homelessness. The project plan and approaches will evolve based on feedback from those directly affected by the key issues as well as findings from the research. Experience of project management, working with a variety of stakeholders, participation and co-production would be desirable for this position.
This is an exciting opportunity to change core approaches to supports young people affected by homelessness in West Dunbartonshire.

The person
You'll need:
- Good Communication
- Confident in working in the community
- Knowledge of the issues and barriers facing young adults who may at times lead chaotic lives.
- A driving License and use of a car
- Can forge strong relationships with local authority and 3rd sector partnerships (including West Dunbartonshire Council and Big Lottery Partnership)
- A strong work ethic and the ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
- Efficient at keeping systems and paperwork updated
- Relevant SVQ3 in Social care is desirable
