The role

Are you passionate about inclusion and equality? Action for Children emotional wellbeing and inclusion project in conjunction with Young Start Community Fund & The Gannochy Trust creates an opportunity to engage with multi- cultural young people from diverse communities in Edinburgh, promoting social inclusion, learning of different cultures and historical events and engagement with sports, arts and music . The project offers a trusting support network that will be a safe place to discuss challenges where staff can enable young people to develop new skills and community connections. As a young persons worker you will be involved in engaging with young people individually and in groups working towards agreed service plans and outcomes.

You will make a difference by:

-Delivering emotional wellbeing and inclusion programmes on a 1:1 basis or in a group setting, with appropriate direction and support.

-Building self-esteem and confidence for young people.

-Promoting positive identity aspects.

-Supporting with 1-1 support sessions working with vulnerable young people from diverse backgrounds.

You will need:

-S/NVQ Level 2 or equivalent experience of working with young people from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds

-Experience of working with young people from diverse ethnic, racial and cultural backgrounds and or individual experience in your own life.

-Prior experience of working as part of a team or as an individual to deliver a frontline service.

-Knowledge of preparing clear and concise file notes and inputting information into office systems.

-Experience of preparing, organising, reviewing and delivering individual and or group work.
