Location: Shrewsbury
Hours: Permanent, Part-Time - 30 hours per week - will include every other weekend
Salary: £18,600 per annum, pro rata

Bradbury House provides quality residential overnight short breaks for up to seven young disabled people aged 0 - 18 years old. We aim to provide a secure, nurturing and fun environment in which young people feel safe, can discover their value and worth as individuals and gain a sense of their own self. This is achieved by focusing on the needs of young people with a flexible approach to all aspects of care. We encourage them to participate in a range of activities such as cooking, physical activities, games and arts and crafts during their stay as well as activities in the local community, so we are looking for individuals with positive energy and creativity to deliver these successfully.
How will you make a difference?
- As an Assistant Residential Worker, you will support the service we provide to children and young people by:
- Supporting young people in Bradbury House on their overnight stays.
- Taking responsibility for the personal care and routines of the young people
- Supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes
- Being responsible for the safeguarding of young people
- Assisting with the dispensing of medication
What will you need?
- Experience of working with children or young people (experience working with children with disabilities would be an advantage)
- Level 3 Diploma for residential childcare or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
- A positive and confident approach to engaging with children and young people
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A flexible approach to working hours (service open seven days a week)
- A good standard of written English and the ability to make accurate notes for record-keeping purposes
