We are seeking an experienced and passionate Adult Social Worker to join the Mental Wellbeing Service in Southampton as part of an exciting journey of improvement and change.
You will work within a supportive, multi-disciplinary team, delivering person-centred practice that promotes individual rights and empowers adults experiencing mental health challenges and/or substance misuse to maximise their independence and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
Completing Care Act assessments and reviews
Developing and reviewing support plans
Undertaking safeguarding enquiries
Carrying out Mental Capacity Assessments
Writing high-quality reports and documentation
Managing a varied caseload and meeting statutory deadlines
Applying relevant legal frameworks, including the Care Act 2014
About the Team
You will be based at the Civic Centre, Southampton, working closely with the wider Adult Social Care directorate, including the dedicated AMHP team. Southampton City Council supports flexible and agile working, with the option to work from home, alongside being office-based at least three days per week.
Requirements
Qualified Social Worker (Social Work England registered)
Minimum 18 months post-qualifying experience in adult mental health
Strong knowledge of statutory duties and legislation
Excellent time management and organisational skills
Commitment to person-centred and strengths-based practice
