The role

Our Tan Y Bryn Residential Service in Rhyl is a five-bedded therapeutic residential home for children and young people between the ages of 9-17 years. We provide support for young people to children who are likely to have experienced early childhood trauma. They may experience severe Low self-esteem, anxiety, depression and have poor communication skills which can lead to disruptive behaviours.

As an Assistant Residential Worker you'll help the team provide a safe, stimulating, fun and caring environment, supporting the children with household tasks and all aspects of their care.

You will make a difference by:

- Working therapeutically to support young people through early life trauma.

- Giving the children a warm, safe and nurturing home.

- Supporting the young people with aspects of their life including contacts, education, Therapy, and hobbies etc.

- Being accountable for health and safety.

- Being responsible for the safeguarding of young people .


You will need:

- NVQ/ QCF in Health and Social Care, or willingness to work towards it.
- Experience of working in a residential setting for children and young people.

- Flexibility to work as part of a team on a rota basis.

- Motivation and energy to support young people to take part in activities and attend Education.

- Good communication skills.

- Good knowledge of IT and ability to work confidently using it.

- Good Knowledge of Safeguarding and keeping young people safe.

- Ability to speak Welsh is desirable but not essential.
