The role Warwickshire Disability is a registered Children's Home offering residential overnight short breaks for children and young people with severe learning disabilities and complex needs. Our extremely dedicated and professional staff team work in a sensitive and caring way to support disabled children to remain living with their families.

You will make a difference by:

  • Working individually and as part of a team to provide responsive, high quality and person-centred care to children, young people and their families.
  • Monitoring children and young people overnight during their stay.
  • Providing personal care, administering medication and carrying out clinical procedures.
  • Building and maintaining professional working relationships and providing emotional, social and practical support to young people who can display challenging emotional and social difficulties.
  • Ensuring that the views and needs of children and young people are heard and responded to by promoting communication and participation.
  • Contributing to the development and evaluation of care plans.

You will need:

  • Relevant qualification in Social Care to at least Level 3 or a willingness to undertake relevant qualification within one year of being appointed.
  • Experience in the provision of services for disabled children, young people or adults.
  • An awareness of the Children's Home Regulations including Quality Standards, legal frameworks relating to children and young people and application of Health & Safety legislation.
  • Experience in safeguarding disabled children and young people, and skilled in identifying risks.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, concise and appropriate way, with an open and honest manner.
  • Innovative and creative approaches to problem solving and developing the service.
  • Self-awareness in being able to ask for help and support when needed
  • Ability to use Microsoft I.T applications.
  • A commitment to ongoing personal development
