Guidant Global is working with the UK's trusted Ministry of Defence partner, MBDA, looking for an experienced Security Vetting Support Officer to operate within the dynamic and enthusiastic environment of security vetting. The role is a critical business area supporting the management of security-vetted personnel to work within the organisation.

As a Security Vetting Support Officer, the successful candidate and the team will be the first layer of security in ensuring any personnel risks are identified and managed. Additionally, one essential requirement is to support the Personnel Security Manager in successfully implementing the Vetting Strategy. What you'll get to do as a Security Vetting Support - Support Officer:

• Part of a highly motivated and progressive security team.
• Primarily peek to complete and accurately record all (right to work) and identity checks to ensure potential candidates have the necessary documentation and rights to work in the UK
• Inputting in a timely and accurate manner, data into a 3rd party provider portal to minimise delays in the completion of clearances
• Support HR, Procurement and Recruitment in obtaining BPSS security clearances for new employees
• Support the team in achieving its objectives and reducing risk to the organisation
• Point of contact for vetting issues/problems.
• Liaise with UKSV and other external agencies when appropriate.
• Monitor external IT platforms to obtain and update security clearances.

What we're looking for:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Customer service experience and excellent work ethic, motivated and enthusiastic
• Ability to work as part of a team and within the wider security department and able to work under pressure and prioritise work as required
• IT competent and willing to learn new systems
• Able to act in the strictest of confidence with personal sensitive data - integrity is paramount
• Must be able to obtain national security vetting and BPSS
• Ability to challenge, negotiate and problem solve when required
• Willingness to learn new standards and processes to apply best practice security

Desirable:

• Experience in HMG BPSS and UKSV vetting processes
• Experience and knowledge of MOD and defence industry
• Relevant vetting qualification
• Awareness and knowledge of recruitment and onboarding processes for the defence industry
• Personnel Security awareness for the ongoing aftercare of security cleared staff
• Presentational experience for the delivery of training
