Our client, a trusted partner to the UK Ministry of Defence, is seeking an experienced Supplier Planner to enhance and well-developed Supplier Planning activities aligned to Oliver Wight Class A standards. This role works closely with Manufacturing Operations, Procurement and programme teams to drive supplier performance. You will own defined supplier categories, improving on time delivery and inventory optimisation, with OTD performance central to effective planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct supplier visits, participating in operational reviews and sharing performance KPIs.
  • Apply MRP planning expertise and Material Master knowledge to support continuous improvement in supplier planning activities.

You will be a key member of the ISP‑S Sub‑Assemblies team, working closely with Buyers, Supply Chain Managers, Industrial Engineers, Sector Leads, Manufacturing Planners, and the Supply Chain Excellence team.

What do you need?:

  • Proven experience working within an MRP or similar planning environment in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong data literacy, with the ability to identify data inaccuracies, investigate root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Experience with SAP is desirable; however, comprehensive training will be provided where required.
  • Results‑driven and culturally aware, with excellent collaboration skills and the confidence to influence and drive decisions across the supplier base.
  • Flexibility to visit suppliers and attend the Stevenage site to engage effectively with key stakeholders.
  • Experience managing suppliers against scheduled orders and fixed purchase orders (POs).
  • Background working both within manufacturing environments and directly with suppliers, demonstrating the ability to negotiate and deliver to agreed deadlines.
  • A strong understanding of core supply chain KPIs and performance metrics.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, bringing bright ideas, best practices, and transferable experience to the role.
