The role
Action for Children have been commissioned by Derby and Derbyshire Clinical Commissioning Group to establish 2 new Mental Health Support Teams (MHST's) and continue the delivery of 4 recently established MHST's teams across 6 Centres of Excellence.
MHST's will provide mental health and emotional wellbeing support to children and young people and their families and carers through schools in the Centre of Excellence areas. Each MHST will support several schools and colleges, covering a population of around children and young people.
You will work with the CCG, Derby University, HEE, Derby and Derbyshire Council's Mental Health leads, the Centres of Excellence leads and Action for Children's Operational Director to ensure the service is implemented according to the contract specification and the emerging needs of the children and young people in each area.
You will make a difference by:
-Promoting the highest standards of safeguarding and fearlessly speaking out for children, young people and their families.
-Proactively building productive relationships with business development, fundraising and other colleagues, preparing and presenting business proposals and contributing to tenders and grant applications.
-Effectively leading our team and implementing change in our clusters, including starting up, growing, closing and reshaping our local services and initiatives.
-Leading a team of social care and support professionals, supervising, developing and motivating direct reports, carrying out performance reviews and other HR responsibilities.
-Managing cluster budgets, tracking financial and contract performance.
- Developing effective working relationships with commissioners, partners, stakeholders, voluntary and community organisations, providing advice and leading media briefings, partnership boards, safeguarding bodies and other local governance arrangements and community networks.
- Embedding effective case management and supervising the cluster.
- Promoting our equality and diversity strategy, linking with local frameworks to promote best practice and develop appropriate action plans.
You will need:
-A qualification relevant to the services within the remit of this post.
-Experience developing and maintaining effective networks, relationships, partnerships and contacts to improve service outcomes.
-Successful experience of management and delivery of commissioned services.
-Extensive experience of working with and delivering evidence-based programmes to children, young people and families.
-The ability to lead, motivate and manage a range of social care and support staff to deliver quality social care services.
-Project management experience and a proven record of collaboration and working in partnership and managing complex projects and services.
