We now have a fantastic opportunity to join Hillside Children's Centre as a Community Engagement Officer supporting the West Bromwich/Wednesbury area. The role will see you setting up information hubs in community venues, engaging service users and recruiting/supporting volunteers to run a range of sessions aimed at disadvantaged families, children and young adults. The hours of this role will include one late night until 8pm to accommodate an Ante Natal Changes programme (training will be provided if required).

The role will see you?

  • Engaging service users and promoting the services within the community via information hubs in places such as the local library, Job centre
  • Make referrals to groups
  • Support clients with a range of issues such as employability, baby clinics, access to information
  • Identify and recruiting volunteers and being responsible for supporting them with community sessions such as "Stay and Play"

The person?

    • Qualifications - Level 2 in Early Years or Social Care - desirable
    • Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) experience/qualification - desirable
    • Previous experience of working with/supporting Disadvantaged families/children
    • Knowledge of Health and Safety and Safeguarding
    • Early Years' experience - highly desirable
    • Confident and outgoing
    • Great social skills
    • Flexible
    • Happy to travel in the role - Driver is ideal however, there are good transport links in the area
