The Hyde Group are looking to recruit a Data Engineer to join us on a contract basis.

- Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 pro rata
- Contract type: 12-18 month fixed term contract

Hyde are looking to bring in a Data Engineer who can design and build robust data pipelines and solutions that support key business processes. These challenges can be very complex so require an individual with a creative approach to finding solutions, and an attention to detail that allows for precision in a market space where there is little room for error. We are looking for someone who is keen to contribute to projects and work in a progressive environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture
- Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional/non-functional business requirements.
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
- Build and maintain the infrastructure required for optimal integration, extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources
- Work with stakeholders including the Data Lead, Analytics Lead, and Analytics Business Partners to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs
- Keep data separated and secure across on premise and cloud based infrastructure and software
- Support in the creation of data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that will assist them in optimizing the value from our data
- Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems
- Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases
- Experience building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures and data sets.
- Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
To be considered for this position you will need to be able to display the following:
- Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.
- Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including Postgres and Cassandra.
- Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools: Azkaban, Luigi, Airflow, etc.
- Experience with AWS cloud services: EC2, EMR, RDS, Redshift
- Experience with stream-processing systems: Storm, Spark-Streaming, etc.
- Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, Java, C++, Scala, Clojure etc.
