Guidant Global is delighted to be partnering with Airbus, a global pioneer in the aerospace industry, in their search for a Design Quality Engineer. The successful applicant will be working within the Quality Engineering Airframe Competence Centre (Disciplines) organisation, primarily in the Process/Business Quality Management perimeter for Quality Performance activities covering all programmes.

You will be a member of the transnational Quality team QIAC for the Engineering Airframe competence centre IAC, working autonomously they shall represent QIAC within the business, whilst deploying quality initiatives and interfacing with Engineering teams. The role involves Process assurance, deploying quality initiatives, resolution of quality issues and continuous improvement projects to increase process performance and product adherence to standards, reliability, and repeatability of Design processes through the product life cycle.

Responsibilities

The Quality Engineering Disciplines team is accountable for the deployment of the Quality Strategy within the Engineering Airframe competence centre and wider Airframe organisations. The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Establishing, facilitation reporting upon Process adherences.
  • Facilitate and support root cause analysis & practical problem-solving activities.
  • Establish and drive corrective and preventive action plans to support the improvement of engineering performance and its associated deliverables.
  • Identify risks/issues relating to the quality of the engineering deliverable and facilitate, support, and drive standardised mitigation plans to prevent/mitigate risk linked to the product and its related processes.
  • Support the deployment of Quality standards and apply them within the Engineering organisation.
  • Capture lessons learned to improve organisation efficiency and product maturity.

Skill Set

Essential

  • Relevant Quality and/or Engineering experience.
  • Project Management knowledge.
  • Understanding of Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • Understanding of root cause analysis techniques (e.g. 9S, 8D etc.)
  • Be able to demonstrate appropriate people skills and associated behaviours when interacting with all levels of the management structure.
  • The ability to learn quickly, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude towards the workload.
  • Exceptional communication and English skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent IT skills as appropriate to the role (Google Workspace/Microsoft Office)

Desirable

  • Experience in a Design or Manufacturing Engineering environment.
  • Ability to communicate in German both verbally and in written form.
  • Programming experience (JavaScript, Google Apps Script, Python etc).
