Interim Project Manager (Capex)
Location - Edinburgh/Annan/Remote working (there will a requirement to work onsite post pandemic)
Contract Length - 12 Months
Hourly Rate - £47.00 Ltd (role is deemed inside IR35)
This job role is to support Capex project management in delivering the capital project portfolio allotted to the EDI and/or Annan sites.
Principal Accountabilities
- Managing multiple capex engineering projects, each project typically £25k to £2m value ~ 10 projects at any one time and/ or responsible for 1-2 projects exceeding £2m in value.
- Responsible for ensuring corporate project management governance model is followed for all projects.
- Responsible for reviewing contracting strategy for each project
- Responsible for managing liaison between site SMEs and the chosen EPC contractor
- Managing any daily project management meetings and ensuring Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People are managed every day for their projects.
- Driving value for the client through managing project resource and purchasing
- Supporting and updating databases, financial projections and finances for project finances
- Ensuring project risks are managed and communicated
- Leading project review meetings and preparing detailed minutes for circulation and review
- Hands on support during project handover covering training of the operational teams, and supporting evidence in master control in order to ensure capital projects are fully compliant with site training requirements
- Ensuring each project is suitably resourced
- Ensuring each project is delivered in line with site standards and policies
- Lead project execution daily meetings to update actions logs
- Responsible for budget control and reporting for all projects under their direction
- Maintaining all project management files to ensure effective handover
Scope
- The scope of the role covers Capital Projects at Edinburgh, but may involve Annan projects
- The role will cover projects for execution in the 0-12 months
- The role involves a high degree of planning, organising and computer skills
- The role involves excellent multi tasking and time management
- This role will liaise with external contractors, internal contractors, and internal operational departments
- The role will have budget responsibility for projects potentially exceeding £2m.
Special factors
- Working long hours/ weekends as required under each project to ensure delivery during critical shutdown windows
Knowledge & Experience
- Degree / Qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation)
- Experience and track record of delivering complex projects with high value exceeding £1 million
- Experience of permit to work systems (including high energy, confined space and lifting)
- Experience of project budget control and reporting
- CDM 2015 experience
- Project management qualification
- NEBOSH or other safety qualification
- Previous pharma or GMP background
