Our client, a trusted partner of the UK's Ministry of Defence, is looking for an experienced Project Officer to join their manufacturing project teams. In this role, the Project Officer will be responsible for delivering missiles and test equipment throughout their product life cycles, ensuring adherence to establish the project control methodologies. This position involves supporting a variety of deliverables across multiple manufacturing task areas, offering a valuable opportunity for career advancement within the project management field.
As a Project Officer, you will be expected to support various projects and sites as needed. You will assist the Heads of Manufacturing and Production Project Managers in delivering tasks, including:
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for maintaining and regularly reporting project Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Serve as a liaison between Manufacturing to ensure timely program delivery, quality, and cost.
- Provide, comprehend, and effectively present information during internal reviews and meetings.
- Support the team in managing risks and opportunities effectively.
- Assist in compiling estimates and costs related to manufacturing at Completions.
- Assist in the compilation and analysis of workload forecast.
- Capable of compiling and maintaining project programs and schedules accurately. They should have excellent organisational skills and be able to manage time effectively.
- Maintain and improve the interface with internal customers and external departments.
- Some travel between sites will be required.
What do you need?:
- Enthusiastic, proactive, and tenacious individual with solid prioritisation and decision-making skills.
- Possess the ability to communicate clearly, strongly, and effectively.
- Numerate and confident in basic mathematics.
- Qualified individuals should possess basic project management skills at an assistant level (coordinator or support).
- Computer literacy skills, including proficiency in MS Word, spreadsheets, presentations, and planning tools, are required (MS Project and Vision)
- Experience with SAP's materials management system and Primavera 6 planning tool is preferred but optional.
- Local, job-specific training will be provided as appropriate.
