Purchasing Administrator
Billingham - 6 month contract
£14 per hours - PAYE
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a PTP Administrator to join their team in Billingham, Teesside. We are looking for high-performing individuals that have a good understanding of procurement systems that can work well on their own as well as working as part of a team in a very busy fast-paced environment. The main purpose of the role will be to undertake tasks associated with the efficient and effective processing of purchasing indents and orders, supporting the purchasing team. You will also be responsible for low-level buying activities with guidance/support from more senior purchasing colleagues.
Key responsibilities:
- Checks orders and indents, financial authorities and purchasing compliance against agreed policies, processes and procedures.
- Updates relevant I.T./purchasing/compliance systems in accordance with approved procedures and operational guidelines.
- Provides internal and external reports highlighting trends and flagging any potential issues in order to monitor KPI's, verify orders and costs to support the buyers.
- Liaises with Buyers to forward documents to suppliers and/or internal customers when necessary.
- Provides relevant administration support as required by the purchasing team.
- Supports expediting and delivery of goods to meet plant/production deadlines in collaboration with logistics, supply and operations planning (S&OP) and production teams.
- Manage low-level buying activities to support other members of the purchasing team.
- Make low-level suggestions that support the optimisation of transactional purchasing processes.
- Support the implementation of system/process continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support Buyers in the collection and collation of EHS, supplier and other regulatory audit reports in relevant databases.

- Previous purchasing experience and strong administration skills.
- Experience in interacting with customers and suppliers and building relationships.
- Experience in prioritising workload against business and project requirements and key customers.
- Experience in providing high-quality customer service.
- Experience in creating reports, databases and presentations is desirable.
