The role
1 in 10 children in every classroom suffer from a diagnosable mental health disorder. The Blues is an evidenced based CBT influenced programme to support the reduction of depression in young people using an early intervention model.
The Blues programme is a vital part of our work. We are looking for a motivated Service Co-ordinator who is committed to supporting young people's mental health to deliver this service in Glasgow and South Lanarkshire. You will be part of a national programme across Action for Children's four nations.
The Service Co-ordinator role will lead, co-ordinate and oversee the delivery of evidence based programme the Blues across a number of secondary schools across Glasgow and South Lanarkshire. Managing a team of practitioners the co-ordinator will ensure that the delivery of the programme meets fidelity requirements and that young people receive support as required. The co-ordinator will supervise staff and deploy resources, recording outcomes and key performance indicators in relation to the programme. Action for Children will provide Blues training for a staff member who is not trained however previous experience of delivery of an evidence based programme or working with therapeutic or CBT interventions in a structured group will be beneficial. Experience of service co-ordination is essential.
How you'll make a difference:
- Leading a team of practitioners to deliver the Blues programme.
- Delivering group work to around 500 young people as year as a team.
- Giving young people skills in order to manage their own emotional wellbeing.
- Working in partnership with schools and colleges.
- Collaboration with commissioners to embed the services of Action for Children.
What you'll need:
- SVQ4 or equivalent in youth work, working with families, childcare or other relevant degree.
- Experience of Service Co-ordination.
- Exposure to managing a team.
- Ability to develop and manage working partnerships.
- Experience of delivering evidenced based programmes AND / OR
- Experience of Theraputic or CBT interventions.
- Involvement of working with young people aged 15-18.
- A commitment to supporting young people's mental health.
