We are making a difference
In Bedford Borough, Children, Young People and Families are at the heart of everything we do - and we need social workers who share our passion and determination to make a lasting difference to the lives of the families we work with.
We are incredibly proud of our safeguarding service and the motivated and highly skilled staff who work hard every day to keep children safe. Ofsted recognised in their focused visits during 2019 that "staff morale is high", "senior leaders are visible, active and engaged with frontline practice in a way that is helping to develop an environment in which social work can flourish as well as a working culture that leaves staff feeling well supported and appropriately challenged" and "the stability of the workforce has increased significantly making it possible for children and families to develop more meaningful relationships with their social workers."
Making a difference together
Bedford Borough are committed to systemic practice and ensuring that relationships are at the centre of our interventions. We are focussed on enabling and supporting change for families openly and collaboratively. Ofsted also recognised during our focused visits in 2019 that "children benefit from sensitive direct work" and "the Local Authority's investment in the professional development of its workforce, particularly in systemic practice, is staring to pay dividends, as is evidenced by increasingly strong, relationship - based practice with children, families and carers."
