๐ŸŒŸ About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join the Adoption Lancashire and Blackpool team within Children's Services.

This role involves supporting the recruitment, assessment, and approval of adoptive parents, and guiding them through every step of the adoption journey. You'll be part of a dedicated Recruitment & Assessment Team, ensuring that every child is matched with the right family and that adopters receive excellent support and training.


๐Ÿ’ผ Key Responsibilities

  • ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘ง Undertake thorough and complex assessments of prospective adopters and complete detailed Prospective Adopter Reports (PARs) for the Adoption Panel.

  • ๐Ÿงฉ Support adoptive applicants through the matching and placement process.

  • ๐ŸŽ“ Plan, facilitate, and deliver preparation and training for prospective adopters.

  • ๐Ÿค Work closely with professionals across LCC, Blackpool, and out-of-county agencies to achieve the best outcomes.

  • ๐Ÿงพ Maintain accurate records and make full use of IT systems and administrative procedures.

  • ๐Ÿ’ก Contribute to service development, staff training, and regional/national adoption events.


โœ… Essential Requirements

  • โœ”๏ธ Minimum 3 years' experience in a permanent post within a local authority.

  • โœ”๏ธ Not held a permanent or fixed-term position within the last 12 weeks.

  • โœ”๏ธ Experience completing assessments similar to prospective adopter reports.

  • โœ”๏ธ Clean driving licence and ability to travel across Lancashire, Blackpool, and out of county as required.

  • โœ”๏ธ Preferably experience within adoption services, though not essential.

  • โœ”๏ธ Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.

  • โœ”๏ธ Strong IT and case management skills.
