Waking night worker - Housing related Support Services

Pay rate: £10.71 per hour - After 12 weeks you will also be paid an additional + 5 hours per week for Lunch

Locations: Nottingham, NG5

Temp position for 3 months with the potential of being extended

Hours: 35 per week.

Shift Pattern: 9pm - 8am 3 on 4 off (Rota Basis) Candidates must be comfortable with lone working!

Must be a car driver, and own vehicle with business insurance: Expense back mileage 45 Pence Per Mile.

Must have an up to date Enhanced DBS check dated within the last 12 months.

What do we do?

We work to improve the lives of young people aged 16-21 years using our services by providing direct housing related support services, together with housing and property management to an individual or groups of young people in conjunction with the wider team and any appropriate external support agencies, with the aim of achieving a successful move-on and other measurable outcomes.

What is the role?

  • Act as an initial point of reference for Nacro service users and external agencies while on duty.

  • Use the Nacro intranet (OneSpace), e-mail and other basic communication media as appropriate and where necessary.

  • Implement night security systems, ensuring overall safety and security of the housing service and respond to faults as discovered.

  • Monitor access to the services and visitors.

  • Meet the requirements of health and safety policies and practices.

  • Log and report incidents and anti-social behaviour.

  • Carry out domestic tasks (cleaning communal areas) to a high standard ensuring that the immediate environment of the service user in relation to service provision is well maintained, clean, and tidy and assessed for any fire and health and safety risks. This should be achieved by taking appropriate follow up action directly or through the relevant third party.

  • Effectively record information. Maintain up to date records and produce relevant reports as required. Ensure handovers at the start and end of shift with operational staff.

  • Attend team meetings when required.

  • Advise management promptly of any signs of problems or concerns about service users.

  • Meet individual performance targets and contribute towards meeting team performance targets in respect of the service.

What you will need?

  • You will have experience of working with vulnerable young people between the ages of 16-21 years old.

  • Experienced in working in partnership with external agencies such as social services, YOT, probation & housing benefit.

  • Have managed and experience of a large case load and offering support and guidance to young people relating to education, employment & training.

  • Experience supporting young people with life skills and to enable them to manage their tenancy or licence.

  • Can demonstrate an understanding of young people with complex needs and experienced in housing management - void inspections, H&S checks and rent management.
