The role

Airplay is the RAF Benevolent Funds £24 million youth support programme for RAF families, providing a huge range of facilities, equipment and activities for children and young people.

Airplay Youth Support at RAF Henlow provides young people with the opportunity to participate in a range of arts and crafts, sports based activities, competitions, games, trips and residentials. Sessions are delivered in evenings during the school term and daytime and residential activities are offered during school holiday periods.

The successful applicant will work as part of team to deliver Youth Work sessions as part of the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund's Airplay Youth Support Service. Delivering flexible, high quality activities that meets the needs of the young people aged 8-18, and their families.



You will make a difference by:

- Assisting in the delivery of appropriate range of youth work activities which are stimulating, engaging, challenging and creative.

- Maintaining effective working relationships and channels of communications with colleagues, children, young people and families.

- Contributing to the planning, delivery and evaluation of high-quality youth work sessions.

- Promoting good practice in a professional and inclusive manner.

- Being fully involved in all activities associated with the Youth Clubs provision.


You will need:

- A Level 2 Youth Work Qualification would be desirable but not essential

- At least one-years experience of delivering face to face activities with young people both individually and in groups.

- The ability to engage with children, young people, their families and carers maintaining and appropriately ending relationships.

- An understanding of the issues relating to children and families from military communities.
