Business Support Officer
In IR35 £26.65/Per Hour PAYE; (Umbrella available)
37 hours; FT (Hybrid 3 DPW onsite)
Our client, a trusted partner of the UK Ministry of Defence, is seeking an experienced Business Support Officer to join a growing and collaborative team. Based at the Bristol site, this role provides proactive, high‑quality administrative and operational support to a dynamic Programmes team and senior stakeholders. A key element of the role is being customer‑facing, supporting on‑site customer visits for a minimum of two days per week during peak visit periods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively manage complex diaries, including extensive domestic and international travel arrangements and expense coordination
- Plan, organise and support meetings, events, workshops and training sessions, capturing actions and ensuring effective follow‑up where required
- Produce and maintain accurate documentation and materials using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Word
- Demonstrate strong proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite, with proven experience in diary and stakeholder management
- Administer access control processes to ensure data integrity, security and compliance
- Effectively utilise the systems, tools and policies to support business operations
- Contribute to wider UK Support Function (UKSF) initiatives, including participation in working groups and cross‑functional activities
- Provide flexible support across a broad range of administrative and ad‑hoc tasks as business needs evolve

- Proven experience in a Business or Administrative Support role, including complex diary management, meeting coordination, events and travel arrangements
- Highly organised and resilient, with excellent communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure
- Proactive and forward‑thinking, with a continuous improvement mindset focused on enhancing processes and efficiencies
- Intermediate proficiency across Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and OneNote
- Strong ability to prioritise, multitask and manage workload effectively in a fast‑paced environment
- Demonstrates a willingness to learn, adapt and extend responsibilities beyond the core role
- Builds credible and effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Actively contributes to UK Support Function initiatives and personal development activities
