The UK's trusted Ministry of Defence partner, MBDA, are looking for an experienced Certification Engineer to be at the core of the business in Stevenage to encompass the identification, planning of subsystem verification tasks.

As a Certification Engineer with previous experience, you will play a vital role in managing the production of the various certificates required to facilitate a new equipment system to enter service.

What we're looking for:

  • Expertise of defence, electrical and environmental standards (e.g. Stanag 1008, Def Stan 07-85, Def Stan 59-411, MIL-STD-810); EMC and its implications for subsystem electronics; reliability and safety principles.
  • Understanding with the DOORS requirements verification tool or equivalent (essential training provided)
  • Contain superior analytical and problem-solving skills, hold excellent verbal communication, negotiation and influencing skills and the capability to write clear concise engineering documentation.
  • Have the pro-activeness, encouragement, proficiency, and perseverance to deliver on time and cost.
  • Harbour the focus to carry out a gap analysis on extensive data, with the knowledge to identify and design the necessary activities to manage any defaults.

What you'll get to do as a Certification Engineer (EA4):

  • The verification procedures to be used and their synthesis into a verification plan, then compiling evidence (from all relevant sources) including design statements, Design Proving activities etc.
  • The evidence is then assessed and compiled into a compliance matrix leading to a compliance statement through a Design Certificate.
  • Hold exceptional and demonstrable knowledge of product Verification functions and where they fit within the product design process.
  • The ability to challenge inadequate requirements and subsequently agree on provable documentation in collaboration with the design teams.
  • Correlate various stakeholders to provide successful work package delivery, including planning actions.
  • Confirm with the internal Proving and Testability team to ensure successful work package delivery, including chairing meetings and inspections and monitoring and reporting progress.
