The role
Are you ambitious and passionate about making a positive difference to children's lives? As a Children's Services Team Leader you will lead and work collaboratively within a team supporting children and young people with disabilities to reach their potential across multiple areas of their day to day life.
We are currently recruiting for Team Leaders to join Bucks Activity Project as we continue providing inclusive county-wide out of school play and leisure activities for children and young people with disabilities aged 0 - 19 years. The project operates during all school holidays, weekends and evenings.

The Team Leader role includes creating engaging, fun and informative learning opportunities, helping the children and young people make excellent progress and meet the requirements of Ofsted in our sessions and activities for children in Early Years. For children and young people aged 8-19 you will be leading groups to take part in out and about activities such as swimming, cinema trips, Go Ape, bowling, and farm visits to name a few and venue based sessions where young people can socialise with others and learn new skills. Children attend the most appropriate setting or environment that best meets their needs. You will lead and plan engaging activities to meet each of the children's needs, keeping accurate records and regularly communicating with parents and carers.
All we ask is that you are willing and able to get fully immersed with the activities and with the children and young people and be prepared to join in the fun!
You will make a difference by:
- Leading and working inside a team supporting children and young people to reach their potential, across multiple areas of day to day lives.
- Focusing on meeting social, emotional, health and personal care needs for all of our service users.
- Delivering on planned play, leisure and practical living skills activities.
- Planning engaging activities for the children and young people such as the weekend clubs & holiday clubs.
- Leading on activities such as arts and crafts, cooking, leisurely visits, physical and imaginative play, outdoor games & book reading.
- Taking responsibility for the safety, care and engagement of the children and young people.
- Able to plan, organise and deliver sessions, create care plans & complete risk assessments within health & safety guidelines.
You will need:
- A fun and proactive approach.
- Knowledge and understanding of working with children with disabilities will be beneficial.
- NVQ level 3 standard in a relevant area, or the willingness to study towards it.
- Experience of working in Children's Services.
- A flexible approach to working hours and will work across different clubs and activities.
- Experience in leading a team or children.
- Demonstration of leadership qualities.
- Access to a car as county-wide travel can be regular.
- Knowledge of disabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
