Hours: Permanent, Part Time 21 hours per week

Salary: Circa £21,000 pro rata

Action for Children Bath West Children's Centre Services provides groups and individuals support for children under 5 and their families in the Twerton and Moorlands areas of Bath.

As a Family Support Practitioner, you will be providing sessions to support and build family resilience, promote play and learning as well as support emotional development and wellbeing.

This role includes the exciting opportunity to develop and roll out a new targeted intervention for families - The Family Table. You will be training colleagues and other professionals to deliver this initiative.

How will you make a difference?

  • Delivering targeted evidence -based services to children under 5 and their families on a 1:1 and group basis, in the family home or community setting.
  • Planning and delivering play groups in the community based on the EYFS.
  • Assessing the needs of children and families and planning support interventions with the family.
  • Attending and participating at relevant multi agency meetings.
  • By establishing excellent rapports with other professionals and partner agencies to promote a strength - based model.

What will you need?

  • NVQ Level 3 in Early Years or equivalent with at least two years post qualifying experience
  • Previous experience working closely with local communities, children and their families
  • A Positive and Caring attitude is a MUST
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • The ability to prioritise and manage workloads
  • Be able to work alone as well as within a team
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to work in a fast - paced and challenging environment
