The role
Burnt Tree Children's Centres play an essential role in providing support to the whole community on a regular basis. They work in partnership with other agencies such as health visitors, midwives and local schools to support children and young people aged 0 to 19 - (up to 25 if SEND). They offer them a secure base, creating learning and developmental opportunities, building aspirations as well as ensuring to keep the children and young people safe.
As a Family Support Practitioner your role is to provide a welcoming, supportive and safe environment for the children and young people to learn and develop.
You will make a difference by:
- Delivering child - focused intervention support to families with multiple needs.
- Day to day resource planning to ensure high quality services are delivered.
- Attending multi agency meetings.
- Establishing excellent rapport with individual families as well as assessing their needs.
- Ensuring a safe and positive work and service environment is achieved through compliance with all safeguarding, safer recruitment, health and safety policy and procedures.
You will need:
- A minimum of an NVQ Level 3 in Early Years, Social Care, or equivalent.
- Experience of working with age ranges of 0 to 19 and their families.
- Experience of working in multi-agency and supporter settings.
- Access to a car & driving licence would be an advantage (frequent travel between all 5 bases).
- Strong communication skills & a commitment to caring.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of safeguarding.
