Temporary Finance Manager - Eneteq (3 Month Contract - Urgent Start Required)
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Finance team within IWE Commercial as a temporary Finance Manager, specifically supporting the Eneteq business during a critical transitional period. The current Finance Manager is leaving on 6th February 2026, making an immediate start essential to ensure adequate handover and knowledge transfer.
You will liaise with senior budget holders and key stakeholders across the business. This is a key role with significant visibility, as you will be responsible for accounting for high value, high importance district heating network projects. The role holder will be accountable for various aspects of the management accounting and statutory reporting processes for the Eneteq business, with management responsibility for 1 direct report.
Key Responsibilities:
- Rapid onboarding and knowledge acquisition from the departing Finance Manager (leaving 6th February)
- Budgets/Forecasts preparation and monitoring
- Monthly Management Accounts production and analysis
- Management of grant monies and associated drawdown conditions
- Statutory accounting for 2 entities
- Group reporting (Vector packages) for 2 entities
- Business Partnering with project teams and budget holders
- Facilitation of Audits and liaison with external auditors
- Comprehensive documentation of current work processes to support knowledge transfer and future permanent replacement
- Management and development of 1 direct report
- Ad-hoc queries and financial analysis as required
The role holder will work closely with project teams to ensure proper accounting treatment and compliance with grant funding requirements for our district heating network projects.
Critical Success Factors:
- Given the imminent departure of the incumbent Finance Manager, the successful candidate must be able to:
- Start immediately or within days to maximize handover time
- Quickly absorb complex information about district heating projects, grant funding arrangements, and accounting processes
- Work independently and proactively to fill knowledge gaps
- Maintain business continuity with minimal disruption
- Document processes thoroughly to support the permanent replacement
